I was on my way home from shopping on a quiet weekday afternoon. While driving up my street I was startled to see a small fire burning on a neighbors front yard fence. No one was in sight. I pulled over and grabbed a traveling blanket I keep in my back seat storage compartment. With blanket and cell phone in hand I hustled to the fire and began trying to smother it. Concerned it might be getting out of control I was about to call 911 when the homeowner came running over with his hose and put out the fire. It was a brief tense scene, but ended in relief and neighborly appreciation. My story speaks to the human experience of “Being at the Right Place at the Right time” to aid someone else 🙂
